Technology Protection Engineer

Responsibilities
Engineer Specialists III provide RTP training to all new ARTPC employees
Provide RTP engineering analysis, including Controlled Technical Information (CTI) identification, Critical Program Information (CPI) assessments, and Critical Function (CF) analysis, supply chain analysis, vulnerability analysis, and risk evaluation
Provide inputs to threat identification, security-related protection measure development, and countermeasures development recommendations based on engineering analysis results
Document results of support and related meetings (excluding recurring ones) will be recorded in an ARTPC assessment/survey memorandum, AAR/Executive Summary (EXSUM), and included in the monthly status report (MSR)
Collaborate with government and contractor security specialists to develop an effective Interim/S&T Protection Plan and/or Program Protection Plan, ensuring the plan is satisfactorily implemented at both government and contractor facilities where CTI and/or CPI reside
Conduct CPI Surveys, CPI Assessments, Army Critical Technology – Identification (ACT-ID) methodology reviews, and Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) reviews as required
Develop, test, maintain, and operate a database/spreadsheet to support Cyber Incident Damage Assessment (CIDA) case management, metrics, and reporting, and provide a matrix on the CIDA workload
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g., mechanical, electrical, civil, chemical, aerospace, materials, etc.)
Eight (8) years of engineering experience applying analytical methods, systems engineering concepts, or technology protection activities with the DoD, IC, or defense industry
Proven ability to conduct research, perform system decomposition, and develop effective risk-mitigation strategies
Exceptional oral and written communication skills to effectively interface with senior military officials, managers, and subordinates
Active TS-SCI
Preferred
Experience in briefing and interacting with SES/General Officer levels preferred
Knowledge of DoD Program Protection, Systems Engineering (SE), technology lifecycle management, and risk framework
Technology protection practices within the DoD, Intelligence Community, or the defense industry
Understanding of DoD acquisition processes
Understanding of Industrial security principles
Understanding of Program protections fundamentals
Experience supporting threat identification and vulnerability assessments
Familiarity with relevant DoD directives, including: DoDI 5000 series, DoDI 5200.39, DoDI 5200.44
