Fleet Manager

The Fleet Manager will oversee the operational management and optimization of the company’s vehicle fleet, ensuring safety, cost-effectiveness, and compliance while supporting drivers and field operations.

Responsibilities

Manage the full lifecycle of the vehicle fleet, including acquisition, leasing, maintenance, utilization, replacement, and disposal
Develop and execute fleet strategies to optimize cost, safety, uptime, and performance
Lead initiatives related to fleet right‑sizing, standardization, and sustainability (EV/hybrid adoption where applicable)
Manage relationships with vehicle manufacturers, leasing companies, maintenance providers, telematics vendors, and fuel partners
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service‑level agreements
Analyze vendor performance and ensure service quality and compliance
Own the fleet budget, forecasting, and cost‑control initiatives
Monitor total cost of ownership (TCO), fuel usage, maintenance expenses, and depreciation
Identify and implement cost‑savings opportunities
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local transportation regulations
Oversee fleet safety programs, driver standards, and accident management
Partner with Risk Management and Legal on claims, insurance, and incident investigations
Leverage fleet management systems and telematics platforms to track utilization, driver behavior, maintenance, and fuel efficiency
Analyze data to drive operational improvements and executive reporting
Support integration with systems such as Samsara, UpKeep, CMMS, or fuel card platforms (as applicable)
Serve as the primary point of contact for fleet‑related needs across departments
Support drivers with vehicle assignments, training, policies, and issue resolution
Partner with Operations, HR, Procurement, and Finance teams
Produce regular fleet performance reports for leadership
Track KPIs such as vehicle utilization, downtime, accident rates, and cost per mile
Drive continuous improvement and best‑practice adoption across the fleet

Required

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, preferred not required
5+ years of experience in fleet management, transportation, or asset management
Strong knowledge of fleet operations, maintenance programs, and regulatory compliance
Experience managing vendor relationships and budgets
Proficiency with fleet management systems and telematics tools
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred

Experience managing medium to large corporate fleets (100+ vehicles)
Familiarity with EV/hybrid fleet strategies and sustainability initiatives
Experience with telematics platforms (e.g., Samsara, Geotab) and maintenance systems (e.g., UpKeep)
Professional certifications such as CAFMs, NAFA, or equivalent preferred
