Trades Technician

Bucknell University is seeking a Trades Technician to perform a variety of skilled labor to support campus operations. The role involves general maintenance and minor repairs across trades such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC.

Responsibilities

Performs carpentry repairs on windows, doors, ceilings, shades, flooring, walls, shelfing, and screens
Performs plumbing tasks including repair and replacement of drinking fountains, sinks, toilets, faucets, shower heads, hot water heaters, water and waste lines, and valves
Performs minor low voltage electrical tasks such as replacing and repairing switches, outlets, small appliances, stoves, heaters, and motors
Performs minor HVAC repair tasks such as replacing filters, fans, and belts and checking for leaks
Assists labor and grounds crew with routine duties such as litter removal, leaf pick-up, mulching, and trimming
Submits work orders and coordinates with trades on projects. Completes all work in accordance with standard safety rules and regulations

Required

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Up to 1 year of related work experience
Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, push, and pull
Frequently lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds unassisted
Occasionally lift items up to 50 lbs
Climb and work on stools, ladders, and stairs

Preferred

2 years of related work experience
Experience with general building maintenance and repair
