Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain a standardized Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO requirements
Lead and coordinate ISO readiness efforts, including documentation, process control, and audit preparation
Conduct internal audits and ensure timely closure CAPAs
Establish and monitor quality KPIs and metrics for product/process consistency
Lead root cause analysis and CAPAs for nonconformities and customer complaints
Support CI efforts to reduce defects, waste, and cost of poor quality
Ensure consistent document control and record retention practices across all sites
Serve as primary customer contact for quality issues, complaints, and corrective response
Lead customer quality inquiries, investigations, and communication to meet expectations
Oversee product inspections and verification to ensure compliance with customer standards
Monitor supplier and raw material quality, including corrective actions when needed
Support customer-specific requirements related to quality and manufacturing processes
Develop and deliver quality training programs to reinforce standards and best practices
Maintain and analyze quality data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities improvement
Prepare and present quality performance reports to plant and corporate leadership
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in quality, business, manufacturing, engineering, or related field
10+ years of experience in quality management within manufacturing
Proven experience implementing and managing a Quality Management System (QMS)
Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements, experience supporting ISO certification efforts and maintaining certification
Demonstrated experience conducting internal audits, coordinating ISO audits, corrective actions, and CAPA management
Proficiency in Minitab or similar statistical analysis software
Strong understanding of process control, inspection techniques, and root cause analysis
Experience with data-driven quality metrics, reporting, and performance improvement
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional improvement initiatives
Excellent communication skills, including customer-facing support and issue resolution
Ability to travel regularly within the assigned region and work across multiple facilities
Preferred
Master's degree in quality, engineering, or related field
15-20 years of experience in quality management
Background that includes work in a pallet manufacturing or wood products industry
Certification in quality disciplines (I.e., Six Sigma, ASQ CQI/CQT/CQE, or ISO Lead Auditor)
Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
Familiarity with supplier quality management and vendor qualification processes
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance related to wood products
Experience using ERP systems and quality management software
Strong leadership experience, including coaching and developing plant-level quality teams
Experience working in a multi-site regional role with remote oversight responsibilities
Strong change management skills and proven ability to drive cultural quality improvement
