They are seeking a Construction & Maintenance Technician I to perform field operations, including installation, repair, and maintenance of natural gas distribution systems.

Responsibilities
Installs, repairs, or replaces steel and plastic pipe
Provides First Responder assistance in emergency situations
Locates gas lines
Loads and unloads required equipment, tools, and supplies onto and from truck
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Requires a high school diploma or the equivalent knowledge of English, mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages), punctuation, grammar, and spelling
Requires no prior work experience
Must be able to maintain a valid Driver's License and all applicable endorsements
Must maintain all necessary Operator Qualifications (OQ) applicable for the position
Position requires employees to be on call after normal business hours for emergency response activities
Able to pass written portion of commercial driver's license (CDL) test within 12 months and attain complete CDL within 24 months
Able to obtain company plastic fusion certification within 12 months and company Arc welding certification within 24 months
Able to learn to operate heavy equipment such as backhoe, trencher and a two-ton or larger truck
Able to use the proper tools for any given job
Able to assist with Plugging and Tapping procedures
Able to assist in preparation of pipe for welding
Able to learn to use a Personal Computer, SAP, and Mobile Data
Able to demonstrate an aptitude for basic mechanical tasks
Able to respond well to changing priorities
Able to solve problems with logical solutions
Able to demonstrate and utilize effective oral and written communications skills
Able to listen effectively and clarify information as needed
Able to respond to customers with courtesy and knowledge
Able to participate successfully in team environment to accomplish assignments
Able to demonstrate commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, the Company's Ethics and Compliance Code of Conduct, and other Company policies and procedures and do so consistently, take all required training courses and do so timely
Able to demonstrate respect for all individuals, adhere to the Company's values and business practices and do both consistently
Preferred
Class A CDL and Arc Welding experience preferred
