Responsibilities
You will be responsible for developing sound technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems related to the entire product life cycle for hardware to meet military performance requirements
Lead the mechanical development and production teams in support of tactical effectors for land based missions that achieve the performance requirements at the system-level from proposal development through customer sell off
Ownership over these items across multiple contracts and spanning multiple years, including efforts critical to support future growth
Work with our programs and internal and external customers to establish requirements and best value and best practice design options based on cost and schedule and appropriate technical data package requirements
Ensures balance with risk conditions and constraints while advising leadership
This role requires a balance of skills including attention to detail, root cause analysis, customer service, and relationship building
Candidate’s ability to quickly adapt through use of technical expertise, leadership, communication skills, and responsiveness are paramount
Engage in personal technical growth and facilitate technical growth in peers and junior engineers
Help to understand what opportunities are needed to mature the organization on the technical front
Support the factory and suppliers with product development, obsolescence, troubleshooting, domestically and internationally
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 12 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced STEM degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience
Experience in a technical leadership role including experience across the development lifecycle
Experience leading and conducting trade studies, development and design, requirements development and management, and integration and test of mechanical engineering products
Experience working across multiple functional and discipline organizations to successfully resolve technical challenges
Experience in the development, creation, release, and updates of technical data packages
Experience in the review and interpretation of technical documentation in a production environment
Experience with ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T (Geometric Dimension and Tolerances)
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred
Advanced degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, or hardware systems design
Experience working development and production programs for products used in military applications
Experience working in a factory supporting full rate production of missile components and assemblies
Working knowledge of Military and Commercial Specifications
Experience working with suppliers that develop mechanical products, machined parts, and electronics
Experience with CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D solid modeling software
Experience with PTC Windchill Product Data Management or equivalent configuration/data management software
Strong technical background with high technical aptitude
Very strong verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills when working with team members and customers
Broad knowledge of RTX or defense industry projects, programs or systems in order to provide enhancements within job area
