Morgan State University is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor for the Department of English and Language Arts and the Center for Equitable Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The role involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in composition studies, developing advanced online courses, and contributing to research efforts within the department and center.

Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in composition studies
Develop and/or teach advanced online courses
Contribute to research and scholarship opportunities that will enhance the research efforts of the Department of English and the Center for Equitable Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
Contribute to the first-year composition program
Teach advanced composition
Provide services to the department, college, university, community, and profession
Split their time evenly between the Center for Equitable Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning and the English Department, with a 50% course load reduction
Qualification
Required
Earned Ph.D. in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or a related field
Record of research and publication in composition, or related fields
Record of research, or a demonstrable interest, in the field of artificial intelligence (either in the application or development of AI as related to composition or other fields of English)
Demonstrated excellence in teaching
Demonstrated knowledge of Canvas and/or other Learning Management Systems
Commitment to working with an ethnically and culturally diverse student population
Preferred
Knowledge about writing center collaborations and how artificial intelligence enhances the mission of the Writing Center activities
