Homeownership Quality Assurance Intern
Virginia Housing is one of the nation’s leading housing finance agencies, and they are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Intern to join their Homeownership Division. This internship provides hands-on experience in the mortgage origination process while ensuring the quality and compliance of services, and involves testing processes, implementing test plans, and collaborating with various teams to enhance efficiency.

Responsibilities
Gain hands-on experience testing mortgage origination processes
Collaborate with the development team to ensure requirements are met in compliance with industry standards
Assist in implementing test plans, test cases, and test scripts
Clearly document and communicate results
Help identify opportunities for process improvement
Provide feedback to enhance efficiency
Work closely with underwriting, loan processing, and technology teams to support a culture of quality and continuous improvement
Proactively pursue professional growth and skill development in mortgage industry practices, mortgage origination, and quality assurance
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED
A field of study, academic background, or demonstrated interest in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related study
Interest and passion for working in public service
Some experience working in a professional setting
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications
Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
Preferred
Basic understanding of mortgage origination processes is a plus
Basic SQL or Power BI knowledge a plus
Basic understanding of Project management with Lean/Six Sigma knowledge a plus
