Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain performant backend services in TypeScript
Support and optimize production ready backend systems
Integrate and manage services like PostgreSQL, MySQL, AWS SQS, and Centrifugo
Collaborate with the lead AI backend engineer to integrate with our AI infrastructure
Ensure high system reliability, security, and observability across services
Own and drive end-to-end feature development with a strong eye on user experience
Champion clean code, technical excellence, and continuous improvement
Maintain, modernize, and migrate legacy code

Required

5+ years of backend development experience
Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript
Experience with functional programming

Proven ability to work independently while collaborating closely with key teammates
Passion for building systems that deliver exceptional customer experiences
Strong debugging, testing, and performance-tuning skills

Preferred

Familiarity with genomics, health data, or personalization systems
Startup or fast-paced environment experience
Familiar with Rust
Work with OpenAI APIs and other AI frameworks to build intelligent, personalized user experiences
