Responsibilities
You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the evaluation of materials, process and manufacturing efforts related to materials and processes used for materials protection
You will provide technical leadership for the planning, organizing, performing and documenting activities associated with development and application of materials and processes used for materials protection on all aircraft acquisition programs
You will research and study the structures and chemical properties of various natural and synthetic or composite materials, including metals, alloys, rubber, ceramics, semiconductors, polymers, and glass
You will determine ways to strengthen or combine materials or develop new materials with new or specific properties for use in a variety of products and applications
You will represent NAVAIR as a master of corrosion prevention and control at meetings and conferences with contractors and other Government activities by reviewing designs, test plans, materials development data, and specifications

Required
You will serve as a materials engineer or chemist in the Air Systems Group, Systems Safety and Aircraft Systems Integration Readiness Office of NAVAIRWARCENAC Div
