Responsibilities
Administering and supporting firewalls, switches, routers, wireless controllers, and access points
Managing and maintaining LAN, WAN, and wireless networks to ensure availability, performance, and security
Supporting and administering VoIP phone systems and networks
Serving as the primary technical interface with network vendors and service providers
Leading network-related IT projects from concept through delivery
Planning and coordinating network maintenance windows and upgrades
Conducting network inventories, configuration audits, and maintaining technical documentation
Defining, implementing, and improving network processes, standards, and procedures
Evaluating new and emerging network technologies and making recommendations aligned with business and regulatory needs
Participating in on-call rotations and providing remote support as required
Supporting quality assurance, safety culture, and regulatory compliance obligations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
(Extensive relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
Minimum 10 years' experience in enterprise network design and support
Strong hands-on experience with: LAN, WAN, and wireless networking
VoIP systems and QoS/CoS
Core networking protocols (BGP, MPLS, VPN, OSPF, TCP/IP, STP)
VPN technologies (site-to-site, IPsec, client-based VPNs)
Authentication and access control (802.1x, NAC, ClearPass, Cisco ISE, or equivalent)
Enterprise network infrastructure including switches, routers, and firewalls
Experience working with external service providers and vendors
Proven ability to produce clear and accurate technical documentation
Preferred
Experience supporting nuclear, advanced nuclear, or other safety-critical regulated environments
Familiarity with enterprise-grade firewall and switching platforms
Industry certifications (Cisco, Aruba, or similar)
Linux system administration experience
Exposure to nuclear quality assurance frameworks and regulated compliance environments
Must meet federal compliance requirements
