Mid-Level Operations Support Specialist

The Mid-Level Operations Support Specialist will provide guidance on operational processes, develop labor hour estimates, and implement industry best practices within manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

As the operation process expert, this role provides guidance to the build plan including methods and techniques, sequence of steps, tool plans, layouts, etc
Responsible for keeping up with industry best practices and implementing them within operations
Develop labor hour estimates as well as tooling and build concepts for new bid proposals
Provides expertise in production engineering disciplines
Applies principles and practices typically associated with quality engineering, industrial engineering, and manufacturing engineering functions and coordinates with other support disciplines or core functions as required. Teams to coordinate with include: Engineering, management, lean, tooling and operations
Develops quality and cost-effective methods, standards, and systems for production by applying production engineering principles
Leads and participates in long-range technical research on proposed projects
Provides guidance to less experienced manufacturing support staff

Required

5-9 years of experience (OR a Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of experience) in manufacturing, continuous improvement, and manufacturing support
High School Diploma or GED
High level of understanding of composites and manufacturing
Experience with Continuous improvement
Strong listening skills and a willingness to learn
High level understanding of composite fabrication and manufacturing
Ability to work cross-functionally
Basic computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, navigate through 3-D engineering models)

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree preferred not required. Industry experience a plus
SAP experience is a plus; SAP is utilized daily
Manufacturing/shop floor experience is a preferred
Lean and Six Sigma experience
Understands RCCA process, can prepare a business case, process improvements
