Pipeline Integrity Technician

Responsibilities

Conduct routine and non-routine inspections of pipelines using various NDT methods, including ultrasonic testing, magnetic flux leakage, radiography, and visual inspections
Lead and perform inline inspections (ILI), external corrosion direct assessments (ECDA), and non-destructive testing (NDT) on high-pressure pipelines
Evaluate pipeline threats and propose mitigations in accordance with PHMSA, DOT, and NRC regulations
Coordinate integrity digs programs, anomaly remediation, and data integration with GIS tools
Oversee field data collection and collaborate with engineers to validate ILI results
Train and mentor junior technicians in best practices and safety protocols
Maintain detailed inspection logs, prepare technical reports, and support audit readiness
Strong commitment to quality inspection and reporting
Represents Applus with outside groups, regulatory bodies, associations, and clients
Adhering to organizational policies and procedures, including but not limited to Applus Code of Ethics and Confidentiality Agreements

Required

5+ years of experience in pipeline integrity, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role
High School Diploma or GED
ASNT TC-1A Level II certifications
Must be able to pass pre-employment background check / drug screening
Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record

Strong technical knowledge and understanding of NDT techniques, services and procedures
Knowledge of radiation safety and operational field requirements regarding radiation safety
Excellent report writing and review skills
Excellent customer service focus, ability to quickly build strong working relationships with business partners and colleagues
Strong verbal and written communication skills matched with the ability to negotiate and build relationships with key stakeholders
Ability to adapt in a high pressure and high production environment while managing competing priorities with minimal supervision
Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize, solve problems, and consistently meet deadlines
Focused on continuous improvement and committed to learning new practices and developing better ways of doing things

Strong computer skills in MS Office and other software applications

Preferred

ASNT Level II or III certification (PAUT, TOFD, MT, PT) strongly preferred
Knowledge with GWUT, and other advanced NDT methods strongly preferred
