Responsibilities

Design mechanical components of electric cryogenic pumps to support lunar landers
Iterate pump designs to optimize performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness
Lead engineering activities related to CAD design and optimization (including design for excellence)
Guide product life cycle development, from product definition and analysis through manufacturing, assembly, testing, verification, integration, and flight
Collaborate across disciplines and teams to evolve designs from concept through prototyping to mass production, supporting hands-on prototype assembly and component fabrication
Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and maintain effective professional relationships in a collaborative and inclusive team environment

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
5+ years of experience designing turbomachinery components
Advanced proficiency in CAD design (Creo preferred) and PLM systems, including BOM structuring and engineering change management for innovative component development
Strong foundation in mechanical engineering—expert in materials, heat treatments, statics, dynamics, and mechanics of materials for mission-critical applications
Skilled in GD&T and tolerance stack analysis, ensuring precision and reliability under demanding operational conditions
Hands-on expertise in integration, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electric motors—seeing designs through from concept to deployment

Preferred

Cryogenic motor experience
7+ years of experience leading validation efforts in automotive or high-power product field
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
