Field Testing and Inspection Technician
STS is a global leader in renewable energy, seeking a Field Testing & Inspection Technician to ensure the quality, safety, and performance of photovoltaic installations. The role involves conducting technical tests, performing inspections, and preparing detailed reports while interacting with clients and improving processes.

Responsibilities
Conduct technical tests and trials in photovoltaic installations, such as Electroluminescence, Visual Inspection, or IV curves
Inspect and assess equipment and processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety
Witness testing progress by analyzing measurements and completing checklists
Monitor testing timelines to ensure completion within agreed schedules
Prepare detailed technical and inspection reports, including findings and recommendations
Participate in project opening meetings to brief suppliers on scope, inspection rules, and schedules and Report observations to the Project Manager
Suggest improvements to suppliers to enhance product quality and testing conditions
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations on-site
Coordinate with other departments for effective project execution
Implement process and technology improvements to optimize system performance
Propose improvements to inspection methodologies and testing processes
Stay up to date with industry trends, standards, and emerging testing technologies
Identify opportunities to improve services offered to clients
Prepare and present technical solutions to clients, explaining design choices and addressing concerns
Travel regularly as required (locations and frequency to be defined by the manager)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Energy Systems, or a related technical field
Proven experience in field testing, inspection, or quality assurance of photovoltaic or renewable energy projects
Strong understanding of photovoltaic systems, energy storage, and related testing methods (e.g., Electroluminescence, IV curves, visual inspections)
Experience preparing technical reports, checklists, and documentation for projects
Familiarity with environmental, health, and safety regulations on-site
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills for interacting with suppliers, project managers, and clients
Willingness to travel regularly to project sites as required
Preferred
Knowledge of process improvement, testing methodologies, and emerging technologies in the solar/renewable energy sector is a plus
Previous experience with project coordination and cross-department collaboration is highly desirable
