Logistics Systems Analyst
Ocean State Job Lot is a dynamic general merchandise retailer with a strong presence in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. The Logistics Systems Analyst will bridge financial data and transportation results, manage transportation software, and support the implementation and optimization of the Transportation Management System.
Responsibilities
Manage and maintain transportation software and hardware, including, but not limited to, Trimble Mobility (PeopleNet), OnBoard Computer (“OBC”), Trimble Onboard DVR & Camera System, and Orbcomm trailer tracking, as well as Oracle Financials and Viva for OKR management
Assist in management of the Manhattan Active TMS application and understand the planning / routing process
Analyze driver performance and compliance, providing feedback and coaching to drivers as needed
Manage and maintain Drivers Alert program, addressing identified issues related to feedback provided by the data collection resource and feeding the information to the proper department for follow through
Develop and track continuous improvement targets for the Transportation Department. Document and maintain Transportation Department processes and information flow, touch points with other areas of the organization, and data sources for reporting
Develop and distribute analytics and reports to measure key metrics, drive results, and support performance reviews
Ensure compliance with Company policies, state, and federal regulations, maintaining accurate documentation, including, but not limited to, driver compliance for random drug screening, certification of violations for motor vehicle records, and annual medical reviews
Address driver concerns and partner with leadership and Human Resources as needed
Maintain positive relationships with various stakeholders, including, but not limited to, drivers, stores, internal and external partners. Influencing positive associate morale and quality customer service
Identify opportunities and recommend solutions to improve processes and reduce costs
As a member of the Management Safety Committee, work with Safety leadership and drivers to implement and administer Company safety and accident reporting policies and procedures
Work independently with self-direction, independent judgment, and minimal supervision
Qualification
Required
A high school diploma or equivalent is required
Prior experience with data analytics is required
Strong computer skills (e.g., Google Suite, MS Office) and telephone skills are required
Excellent organizational and process management skills and attention to detail are required
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and follow up effectively
Strong communication skills, and ability to build and maintain a culture of trust and respect
Willingness to learn new things and take on new responsibility
Proficiency in English is required
Preferred
A college degree is preferred
2 or more years of supervisory experience is preferred
Experience with a TMS is preferred
Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
