Responsibilities

Analyze database performance, capacity, and usage trends to proactively identify issues and improvement opportunities
Write, maintain, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, scripts, and batch processes
Develop automation using SQL, PowerShell, and batch scripting to improve reliability and efficiency
Install, configure, and administer MS SQL Server databases
Monitor system health, analyze reports, and troubleshoot complex database issues
Perform performance tuning and query optimization based on analytical findings
Design and implement backup, recovery, security, and auditing processes
Manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions
Execute daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks
Support installations, upgrades, patching, and migrations
Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and business teams to analyze requirements and data behavior

Required

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field
Proven experience in a SQL Database Administrator or Database Analyst role supporting enterprise systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and system trends
Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server administration (SQL Server 2005–2022)
Experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL
Advanced proficiency in T-SQL, PowerShell scripting, and batch scripting
Strong experience with query optimization, performance tuning, and root cause analysis
Ability to document, standardize, and improve complex SQL and automation processes
Experience managing and maintaining SQL Cubes
Excellent communication and documentation skills

Preferred

Azure cloud experience preferred
