Sr. Product Manager, Direct Data
PitchBook, a Morningstar company, is seeking a visionary leader for the role of Senior Product Manager for their Direct Data business. This role focuses on owning the strategy, roadmap, and execution of data feeds, APIs, and CRM integrations to enhance customer workflows and product innovation.

Responsibilities
Own the vision and strategy for PitchBook’s Direct Data business—encompassing data feeds, APIs, and CRM integrations—to increase accessibility and adoption across customer segments
Define and drive initiatives that make PitchBook data universally available through industry-standard tools and platforms (e.g., developer portal)
Expand the breadth and utility of our data offerings, ensuring they deliver impact across core customer use cases and verticals through data expansion and service enrichment
Standardize and productize data delivery assets to enable faster, more frictionless selling and streamlined customer onboarding
Deepen CRM integrations by connecting PitchBook and customer CRM datasets, expanding CRM data visibility within PitchBook and associated plugins
Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Engineering, Design, and Sales—to ensure alignment between product strategy, technical execution, and go-to-market priorities
Partner with commercial teams to support packaging, pricing, and positioning of direct data products across multiple customer channels, ensuring scalable and sustainable growth
Champion customer empathy, developing a deep understanding of customer data consumption patterns and integration needs to shape differentiated, value-driven experiences
Measure success and impact through adoption, engagement, and retention metrics—continually iterating toward product-market fit and long-term client value
Mentor and collaborate within the Product organization, modeling a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making
Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related field; MBA or equivalent experience preferred
5+ years of product management experience, ideally in data infrastructure, enterprise integrations, or B2B SaaS
Proven success building and scaling data products or APIs, particularly in contexts involving large-scale data ingestion, normalization, and delivery
Strong understanding of data architecture, schema design, and developer experience, including REST APIs, data feeds, and SDKs
Experience with CRM ecosystems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics) and integrating first- and third-party datasets
Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional alignment and execute complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives
Strong technical acumen, with familiarity in SQL, API specifications, and data warehouse technologies such as BigQuery, Databricks, or Snowflake
Track record of influencing executive stakeholders through data-driven insights and customer advocacy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear, actionable narratives
Self-directed and entrepreneurial, with a bias for action and passion for operational excellence
Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
