Part-time Challenger Learning Center Facilitator

Montgomery County Community College is seeking a Part-time Challenger Learning Center Facilitator to provide support for daily mission programming and Discovery Programs. The role involves facilitating educational activities, maintaining technology, and representing the center at community events.
Higher Education

Responsibilities

Provide daily facilitative support with Challenger Learning Center simulation-based missions, both in-person and virtual
Assist in the facilitation of Discovery Program activities in collaboration with Challenger Learning Center in-person missions with students in grades 5-8, when requested
Maintain working knowledge of all technology used in Challenger Learning Center and Discovery Programs that comply with local, state, and federal guidelines to provide for safe physical and online learning environments
Provide facilitative support for Challenger Learning Center summer camp programming
Represent the Challenger Learning Center and MCCC at Challenger network partner meetings, local & regional community fairs, and other related community outreach events as requested
Provide Challenger Learning Center administrative support where and when needed
Other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of one year of experience in classroom and/or informal educational settings using computer-assisted instruction
Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and some holidays, as needed
PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI Fingerprints will need to be completed prior to start date
Desire to work with children of all ages, as well as adults
Passionate about higher education, particularly in STEM
Experience with STEM programming for youth
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Possess an outgoing and enthusiastic personality
Amenable to flexible weekly schedule; ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and some holidays
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with children and adults
Demonstrated ability to work in multicultural settings
Demonstrated ability to conduct effective classes and demonstrations
Demonstrated ability to lead public programs with strong presentation and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to adapt during program delivery to satisfy real-time scenarios
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and learn new technology
Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
