Public Health Manager - Substance Use Disorder Prevention
NEOGOV is seeking a Public Health Manager for Substance Use Disorder Prevention who will lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of culturally responsive prevention programs addressing substance misuse in tribal communities. Responsibilities
Develop and manage SUD prevention programs tailored to tribal youth, families, and community members
Integrate traditional healing practices, cultural teachings, and trauma-informed approaches into service delivery
Coordinate NARCAN distribution and training programs to prevent opioid overdose
Facilitate outreach events, workshops, and youth-led initiatives to raise awareness and build community resilience
Collaborate with tribal departments, schools, and justice systems to promote prevention and early intervention
Distribute culturally relevant educational materials and promote harm reduction strategies
Participate in interagency collaborations and represent the program in local, state, and national forums
Oversee program budgets, including planning, monitoring, and reporting expenditures in compliance with tribal, state, and federal guidelines
Manage grant funding and ensure timely submission of financial reports and renewal applications
Prepare reports, grant applications, and policy documents to support program sustainability and growth
Coordinate procurement, contracts, and vendor relationships for program-related services and supplies
Supervise SUD prevention program staff, ensuring efficient operations, training, performance reviews, recordkeeping, and adherence to culturally competent standards of care
Support professional development and capacity building for team members and community health workers
Collect and analyze health data to identify gaps, barriers, and opportunities for improvement
Lead continuous quality improvement efforts and ensure data-informed decision-making
Report outcomes to tribal leadership and funding agencies
Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as requested by the Supervisor or Director
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in Public Health, Social Work, Behavioral Health, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible management experience in substance use prevention or behavioral health within a tribal or an underserved community
Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License
Must have a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card or be able to obtain one within ninety (90) days of hire
