Responsibilities

Performs operational rounds under general supervision
Collects and analyzes process samples
Assists in industrial wastewater sampling
Assists with FOG inspections and sampling
Cleans and maintains operational equipment
General facility grounds maintenance
Assists with preventative maintenance program
Performs other directly related duties consistent with the role and function of the classification

Environmental science programBasic math skillsMicrosoft Office SuiteGeneral labor experienceHand toolsComputer program experienceReport writing experience

Required

Graduation from high school or possession of a GED
Enrolled in an independent study program including Des Moines Public Schools Options Academy, DMACC Youth Consortium, Iowa Workforce Development or a comparable program or a post-secondary environmental science related program
Basic math skills
Possession of a valid Iowa driver's license
Must be at least 18 years old
Requires satisfactory criminal, sex offender and if applicable driving record background checks

Preferred

Preferred experience with Microsoft Office Suite
