Operations Technician

Responsibilities
Able and willing to train and coach operators or techs on day and night shifts
Set a good example as a role model for positive engagement and continuous improvement culture
Provide technical knowledge to resolve problems with quality and downtime issues on the production floor
Able and willing to run equipment when necessary
Supports shift production teams in problem solving and troubleshooting efforts, which may require after-hour call-ins
Support the introduction of new technology
Work closely with operations, maintenance, and technical support personnel for day-to-day operations, on problems, and on process improvement initiatives
Develop strong, positive communication links with all departments including Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Warehouse, People & Culture, Maintenance and Finance
Provide support to other SIG sites as requested
Provide timely and accurate reporting on projects and activities as required
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
Must possess a solid technical background in Extrusion, Injection Molding or Bag making process with a minimum of 5 years' experience and/or Level 3-4 in one of the production departments skills matrices
Ability to work all shifts and perform overtime
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and Power Point presentations
Proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Basic skill knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel, and Virtual Client to perform effectively in daily activities
Ability to perform visual inspection process and successfully read and apply technical material including print specifications
Must be able to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
Frequently standing, walking and sitting
Frequently required the use of hands to finger, feel, reach or handle machinery
Frequently bend, stoop and reach
Visual Acuity (VA)
Moderate working conditions
Exposure to variable noise levels
Often exposed to moving mechanical parts
