Mechanical Engineer Intern
Leidos is a company that provides support for the Air Force Research Labs (AFRL) Rapid Technology Development and Demonstrations (RTD2) program. The Mechanical Engineering Intern will assist in the design and integration of sensors and systems for ground and air-based applications, contributing to the development of new technologies.

Responsibilities
Support the design and integration of sensors and systems payloads on various ground and air based applications
Design and develop 3D models and drawings for manufacturing of ground and aircraft testing components
Develop parts lists (BOMs) for drawings and payloads
Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplined engineering team
Assembly of components and payloads
Support flight testing events
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience with CAD tools, manufacturing drawings and basic modeling techniques
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Familiar with and able to use common hand tools (screw drivers, drills, wrenches)
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
Able to work in unairconditioned/outdoor environments (hangar spaces, flight lines) during testing events
Must be a US citizenship and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance with Leidos
Preferred
Experience with Creo (Pro Engineer)
Experience with ASME Y14 drawing practices
Familiar with manufacturing technologies and processes
Basic knowledge of electrical systems
