ENTRY-LEVEL PACKAGING ENGINEER

They are seeking an Entry-Level Packaging Engineer to design, develop, and qualify packaging solutions for retail and e-commerce products, working closely with cross-functional teams to bring concepts to life.

Responsibilities

Develop various packaging concepts in coordination with finished products and materials used and ensure compatibility of packaging with the manufacturing operations
Create and finalize all packaging component specifications and dielines for paperboard, labels, flexible packaging, and corrugated boxes
Design basic dielines in CAD, prepare samples and confirm design with manufacturing partners
Test, analyze and select materials for packaging based on functionality, cost effectiveness and sustainability
Develop sound packaging designs by understanding the life cycle impact of packaging design and basic concepts of packing/testing regiment
Source packaging materials from domestic and international vendors and present summary to leadership
Support product development from concept phase to commercialization in partnership with cross functional teams
Create Bill Of Material of packaging components and maintain the respective packaging data
Create carton labeling requirements for each Bill Of Materials
Recommends pallet pattern for logistics and distribution
Drive best practices in consumer satisfaction through quality improvement and value-added packaging concepts
Help ensure packaging complies with all regulations for both retail and Ecommerce
Participate in ensuring compliance with extended producer responsibilities and reporting

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Package Engineering or a related field, such as Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
3 to 6 months of internship experience is highly preferred
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize deadlines
Familiarity of packaging development and/or design required
Experience working with 2D CAD technology; 3D CAD is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Office Suites
Must be willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally (5%)
