Senior Autonomous Systems Engineer - USA
Sigma Embedded Engineering is seeking an experienced autonomous systems engineer with a research-level understanding. The role involves designing and evolving perception, estimation, and decision-making systems, as well as developing ML models for real-time, safety-critical environments.

Responsibilities
Design and evolve perception, estimation and decision-making systems
Work with multi-sensor fusion (camera / radar / LiDAR) under uncertainty
Develop ML models deployed in real-time, safety-critical environments
Own behavior planning, localization and calibration at a system level
Reason about failure modes, uncertainty, latency and robustness
Collaborate closely across software, hardware, simulation and validation
Qualification
Required
Research-level understanding of autonomy, ADAS, robotics, control or applied ML
Ability to read, critique and extend academic work — and ship beyond it
Experience working with systems where incorrect behavior has physical consequences
Strong grounding in probability, estimation, optimization and system trade-offs
Comfort acting as technical authority in ambiguous, high-stakes problem spaces
Willingness to relocate to the USA
