American Family Insurance is seeking a Software Engineer Intern for Summer 2026 to join their innovative Mobile Apps team. The intern will gain hands-on experience by collaborating with experienced engineers to design, build, and ship new features for their mobile applications, enhancing the customer experience.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with senior engineers to design, build, and ship new features for our Android mobile application

Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate and enhance backend services that power the mobile user experience

Gain exposure to the full software development lifecycle, including agile methodologies, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines

Present your project accomplishments and learnings to team members and leadership at the end of your internship

Required

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field

Solid foundational knowledge of object-oriented programming, preferably with experience in Java or Kotlin

Must have achieved 24 semester hours of academic credit before beginning the first work term

Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service

A genuine passion for creating exceptional user experiences and a deep curiosity for solving real-world customer problems
