Field Support Engineer

$30/hr - $35/hrSky Systems, Inc. is seeking Junior Tier II Field Support Engineers to support healthcare clinics in and around Oneonta and Cooperstown, NY. This role involves hands-on IT support, frequent travel, and close coordination with end users and senior engineers.
Information Technology
Responsibilities
Boxing and unboxing IT/networking equipment
Plug-and-play setup of networking devices (under supervision)
Installation, backup, and basic hardware setup
Rack and stack of networking equipment (under supervision)
Follow technical instructions from senior engineers
Provide desktop and basic network support (2:1 ratio per site)
Coordinate with end users and IT teams
Update and manage tickets (ServiceNow knowledge preferred)
Qualification
Required
Fresh graduates or junior-level candidates welcome
Basic understanding of IT infrastructure
Basic understanding of Networking
Basic understanding of Desktop support
Ability to follow technical instructions
Willingness to learn and grow
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Candidates must reside within 15–20 miles (or within 30 minutes) of the location
Frequent travel between Oneonta and Cooperstown
Travel to other clinics (up to 3 hours one way)
Must have a valid Driver's License and personal vehicle
Must be available for late-night shifts
Must be available for weekend shifts
Must be available for emergency/critical downtime support
Overtime (OT) applies beyond 40 hours/week
Preferred
ServiceNow helpdesk experience (recommended)
Basic networking knowledge
Prior field support experience (plus)
Benefits
Mileage Reimbursement: $0.725 per mile (2026 IRS Rate)
Other expenses (tools, parking, etc.) reimbursed with proof
No markup on reimbursements
