Executive Director of Operations
Confidential company is seeking an Executive Director of Operations to drive operational strategy and enhance organizational performance. This senior leadership role involves overseeing all operational functions to ensure efficiency, scalability, and profitability while aligning operations with business objectives.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute the company’s operational strategy in alignment with overall business goals
Translate corporate objectives into measurable operational plans and performance targets
Lead long-term capacity planning, infrastructure development, and operational scalability initiatives
Serve as a key advisor to the executive team on operational risks, opportunities, and performance
Oversee daily operations across manufacturing, production, supply chain, logistics, quality, and facilities (as applicable)
Ensure operational efficiency, cost control, and productivity improvements across all departments
Drive performance management systems and establish KPIs to measure operational success
Ensure consistent execution of policies, procedures, and best practices
Partner with finance to develop and manage operational budgets
Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining quality and service standards
Monitor operational metrics and provide regular reporting to executive leadership and stakeholders
Identify and implement initiatives that improve margins and operational effectiveness
Champion Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
Lead process optimization and digital transformation initiatives
Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and data-driven decision-making
Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, environmental, and quality standards
Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies
Maintain high standards of safety and workplace culture
Build, mentor, and develop high-performing operational leadership teams
Drive workforce planning and talent development initiatives
Promote a collaborative, performance-focused organizational culture
Lead change management efforts during periods of growth or transformation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (MBA preferred)
10–15+ years of progressive operational leadership experience
Proven track record of leading large, cross-functional teams in a complex organization
Demonstrated success in scaling operations and driving measurable performance improvements
Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and cost controls
Deep understanding of supply chain, manufacturing, or service operations (industry-specific experience preferred)
Exceptional leadership, communication, and executive presence
Preferred
Experience in high-growth or rapidly scaling organizations
Background in manufacturing, industrial, renewable energy, or related sectors (if applicable)
Lean, Six Sigma, or operational excellence certification
