Responsibilities
Performing experiments using animal models
Conducting research related to multiple studies including cell isolation/culture, bacterial, fungal and/or viral culture, tissue processing, histology/immunohistology, Fluorescence-Activated Cell Sorting (FACS) and gene/protein expression
Assisting with data interpretation
Maintaining accurate laboratory records
Qualification
Required
U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy
Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959
Subject to background/security investigation
Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process. Acceptable form(s) of identification will be required to complete pre-employment requirements
Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP)
You must possess general experience in work with performing experiments using animal models, collecting and analyzing tissue and blood samples, assisting with data interpretation, and maintaining accurate laboratory records
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications
