They are seeking an intern for the Outdoor Education and Outreach Team to assist with community engagement initiatives, outreach programming, and data analysis related to state park visitation and outdoor education.

Responsibilities
Support the State Parks Community Engagement Coordinator by assisting with cultural engagement planning and attending collaborative working group sessions
Support the Texas Outdoor Family program by attending and assisting with introductory camping workshops and related prep and inventory tasks
Support the Buffalo Soldier Heritage and Outreach Program by assisting with historical outreach programming, social media, and artifact management tasks
General support of the Outdoor Education and Outreach team and the Interpretive Services program by attending programs at State Parks and assisting with various interpretation
Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with Agency, Division and Department rules, regulations, and procedures
Qualification
Required
Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited college or university or recent graduate with a bachelor's degree or higher within the last 6 months
Minimum of 18 completed semester credit hours from an accredited college or university at time of application
Must have an overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 grade point scale or 'Pass' on a Pass/Fail system
Must possess a valid state driver's license
Knowledge of Texas State Parks
Skill in effective verbal and written communication
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with peers or leaders while work on projects or assignments
Skill in managing several projects simultaneously
Skill in using MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Skill in exercising leadership qualities
Skill in with civic or community engagement
Skill in meeting deadlines
Ability to work as a member of a team
Ability to prepare reports
