WDI Ride Control Engineering Intern, Summer 2026

Walt Disney Imagineering is the creative force that imagines, designs and brings to life all Disney theme parks, resorts, attractions and cruise ships worldwide. The Ride Control Engineering Intern will work within the Ride Engineering Studio to assist in the development of ride control systems, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to create immersive experiences for Disney's guests.

Responsibilities

Be part of an engineering team involved in ride control system development, prototyping, simulation, or testing for a specific attraction or development project
Design, model, and/or analyze electrical, electronic, and data communication systems
Join a project or development team, partnered with a leader who will be your mentor

Qualification

Required

Ability to understand and implement basic control system design
Experience with programmable controllers used in machine control and robotic applications
Ability to conduct electrical/electronic design and calculations
Ability to prepare technical documents and CAD drawings
Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher attending an accredited college/university earning a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work
Must be fully available for the duration of the internship

Preferred

Leadership experience in an engineering organization, or other organized group
Membership or leadership in IEEE, SWE, ACM, or equivalent professional organization
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Matlab
Control Systems Engineering and/or Control Theory experience
Control Systems Engineering and/or Control Theory coursework
