Network Rack Decom Manager , DCC Communities
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Network Decommissioning Manager to join their rapidly growing network and Cable Decommissioning team. In this role, you will manage a team responsible for the timely removal of networking gear from data centers, collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure effective decommissioning efforts.

Responsibilities
Manage and develop a team of Network Decommissioning techs
Ensure non-impactful and timely removal of existing network infrastructure
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define plans and process to achieve required capacity and network requirements via decommissioning efforts
Partner with peer leaders within the NCD organization to create and perpetuate a true lifecyle approach to standardizing and maintaining internal cabling throughout the data center environments
Identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues; leading high-profile/visibility projects, as required, to enable new capacity and services
Support new automation introduction activities that, reduce cost and decommissioning time; obsessing over reducing risk and legacy constraints inherent in existing facilities
Travel 20% or more to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at AWS data centers
Qualification
Required
2+ years of people management and team development experience
5+ years of engineering work managing large-scale services experience
Experience in people management and team development
Experience in engineering work, managing large-scale services
Experience maintaining SLAs through the implementation of proactive issue detection and reporting
Experience operating a mission-critical team or product
High school or equivalent
Preferred
3+ years of work in a management position with 5 or more direct reports experience
5+ years of work in data centers with an emphasis on building and equipment operation experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations including systems such as feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and CRAC units
Experience in a management position with 5 or more direct reports
Experience working in data centers with an emphasis on building and equipment operation
