TPWD - Intern I - II - III (SP Accessibility Intern - Austin)

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is dedicated to managing and conserving Texas's natural and cultural resources. The SP Accessibility Intern will assist the State Parks Accessibility Specialist with daily operations, inspections, and the development of accessible programs to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Assisting with day-to-day operations of the Facility Management program
Conducting safety inspections and facilities inspections under the ADA
Creating ADA and accessibility training materials for the field
Reviews and updates ADA Assessments for each site
Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with Agency, Division and Department rules, regulations, and procedures

Required

Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited college or university or recent graduate with a bachelor's degree or higher within the last 6 months
Minimum of 18 completed semester credit hours from an accredited college or university at time of application
Must have an overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 grade point scale or 'Pass' on a Pass/Fail system
Must possess a valid state driver's license
Knowledge of Texas State Parks
Skill in effective verbal and written communication
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with peers or leaders while working on projects or assignments
Skill in managing several projects simultaneously
Skill in using MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Skill in exercising leadership qualities
Skill in civic or community engagement
Skill in meeting deadlines
Ability to work as a member of a team
Ability to prepare reports
