Departmental Analyst-A (12) - Climate Action Officer (Limited Term)

Responsibilities
Support renewable energy initiatives, with a focus on utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects
Serve as the recognized resource for research, program and policy evaluation, and data analysis related to renewable energy siting and planning
Lead the coordination of the Renewables Ready Communities Program across multiple departments
Manage grant and contract processes for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Climate Pollution Reduction Grant
Oversee the strategic planning and execution of renewable energy projects
Support engagement with Tribal governments and other communities to foster collaboration and support renewable energy deployment across Michigan
Share expertise and provide leadership to EGLE and other state agencies, local governments, academia, and the general public on renewable energy planning and the goals of the MI Healthy Climate Plan
Qualification
Required
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major
Three years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement
Experience managing grants, contracts, or similar funding processes
Experience with renewable energy projects (e.g., solar, wind, or energy storage)
Experience managing cross-departmental programs or collaborating with diverse public and private entities, including Tribal governments or community organizations, to support energy or environmental initiatives
