Responsibilities

Perform complex technical duties within the IT unit of the Human Services Department
Responsible for the administration and management of systems including Microsoft Office365 and Azure, Palo Alto Network technologies, enterprise email, virtual desktop environments, identity management, and the Cisco network
Manage and maintain multiple advanced technologies throughout the Human Services Department

Required

Three years of experience in designing, installing, and maintaining complex multi-site LANs and WANs
The equivalent to graduation from a two-year college with major coursework in a related field
Possession of a valid driver's license at the appropriate level including necessary special endorsements, as required by the State of California to perform the essential job functions of the position
Considerable knowledge of network and IT architectures
Considerable knowledge of available bandwidth concepts and resources
Considerable knowledge of network management systems concepts and methods
Considerable knowledge of advanced network technologies
Considerable knowledge of IT security methods and policies
Considerable knowledge of agency-level business and mission requirements
Considerable knowledge of project management methods and principles
Working knowledge of customer service protocol
Working knowledge of operating environments sufficient to install, configure, and maintain operating systems components
Ability to develop contingency plans to ensure continuous availability and accessibility of network resources in the event of emergencies
Ability to design network architectures
Ability to conduct cost-benefit analyses and total cost of ownership and capacity studies
Ability to establish security practices
Ability to develop contingency and recovery plans
Ability to manage and maintain network protocols
Ability to provide Intranet or Internet gateways
Ability to coordinate other actions to ensure the implementation of networks that support mission requirements
Ability to evaluate and define infrastructure requirements
Ability to select hardware and software components
Ability to assemble installation teams
Ability to coordinate network implementation planning
Ability to oversee testing and implementation
Ability to lead the implementation of major projects
