INTEROPERABILITY & EMBEDDED SOFTWARE LEAD
NAVWAR is a department within the U.S. Navy focused on weapons control and integration. The Interoperability & Embedded Software Lead will be responsible for leading the design and development of software architectures and solutions to ensure data exchange and interoperability between various systems, particularly in weapons launch and control systems.

Responsibilities
You will lead the design and development of the implementation of SW architectures and solutions to enable data exchange and interoperability between tactical, simulation and training systems/platforms, focusing on weapons launch and control systems
You will lead the development and maintenance of software applications for embedded systems used in weapons control and launch systems, ensuring safety, accuracy, and reliability
You will lead the development and maintenance of a variety of software applications across desktop, mobile and embedded systems
You will lead the design and implementation of software solutions that optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability, and ensure effective data exchange between systems and platforms
You will collaborate across Integrated Product Teams to ensure seamless integration of software components with hardware systems and other software applications
You will implement and maintain software solutions that adhere to military standards, frameworks and protocols for data exchange and safety
You will implement and maintain software solutions that can interface with DOD simulation or Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) systems, such Distributed Mission Operations (DMO), SIMDIS, and Joint Simulation Bus (JBUS)
You will conduct technical analysis and troubleshooting to identify and resolve software-related issues, ensuring timely and efficient resolution, and minimizing the risk of system failures or malfunctions
You will provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure that software development projects are executed in accordance with established processes and methodologies, such as the Battle Management Systems (BMS) Rapid Development Process
You will coordinate with BMS Program Managers and Project Leads to provide inputs and guidance to projects that impact the Interoperability and Embedded software, ensuring it aligns with the vision for the overall BMS systems architecture plan

For 1515/1550 series, this is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code Software Developer, proficiency level Basic, the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and DON policies
This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalency), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional Engineer or Scientist with experience in systems architecture design, development, and integration, demonstrating extensive experience in application and embedded software development for weapon systems and command and control (C2) system software development with an emphasis on interoperability
Leading the design, development, and implementation of software architectures and solutions to enable secure and reliable data exchange and interoperability between disparate tactical, simulation, training, and weapon control systems and platforms
Directing the development, maintenance, and integration of software applications across diverse platforms including embedded systems, desktop applications, and mobile devices, ensuring adherence to safety requirements
Providing technical leadership, guidance, and oversight as a key member of Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), fostering collaboration and communication across engineering disciplines to achieve project objectives within budget and schedule constraints
