Responsibilities
Develop and manage capital cost estimates and budgets across all project phases
Ensure estimates meet established governance and classification standards
Maintain the Basis of Estimate and estimate plans in collaboration with EPCM partners and internal teams
Apply appropriate contingency levels based on scope maturity, design detail, and risk profile
Track project costs, cash flow, commitments, and forecasts against approved budgets
Identify cost trends, variances, and emerging risks; recommend corrective actions
Evaluate financial impacts of scope changes, trends, and claims, and ensure timely incorporation into forecasts and reporting tools
Implement and maintain cost control frameworks, including WBS structures and cost coding, aligned with project schedules
Produce accurate, timely cost reports including variance analysis, cash flow forecasts, and executive-level summaries
Support and/or lead internal and external audits related to project costs and controls
Develop dashboards and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) to enhance cost visibility and decision-making
Collaborate with business units, mine sites, and project teams to gather accurate cost and schedule data
Influence stakeholders to meet reporting timelines and maintain data integrity
Establish and support communication and stakeholder management plans across a portfolio of projects
Qualification
Required
7–10+ years of experience in estimating, cost control, or project cost management, ideally within mining, heavy industrial, or process industries
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field
Strong understanding of mining operations and capital project execution
Proven experience with SAP or similar ERP systems (Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
Experience building and maintaining project dashboards using Power BI or similar tools
Familiarity with industry-recognized project management and cost control best practices
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and identify key cost drivers
Highly organized with strong prioritization and independent decision-making abilities
Clear, confident communicator with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
Collaborative team player with the confidence to lead discussions on cost performance and risk
Solid understanding of the mining value chain and how capital decisions impact overall project outcomes
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites, including Beatty, Nevada
Willingness to travel based on operational needs
Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as required by project demands
Preferred
Master's degree and/or CPA/CMA certification is a plus
