Cancer Support Group Facilitator
Cancer Support Community Massachusetts is seeking a dedicated and passionate Clinical Facilitator responsible for facilitating support groups for individuals affected by cancer. The role includes conducting intake interviews, providing peer supervision, and overseeing educational workshops to promote the CSC mission and support participants in their cancer journey.

Responsibilities
Schedule and facilitate intake interviews with prospective participants
Offer support and peer supervision to coworkers during clinical calls
Within the framework of the CSC model, help group members share their cancer related experiences in regularly scheduled group meetings
Assist groups of people affected by cancer to explore positive and negative emotions, better understand and reduce distress, and improve their quality of life
Assure that participants gain knowledge and information from each other to become more active in their cancer treatment and recovery (Patient Active)
Help CSC participants discover ways to reduce their sense of isolation, regain a sense of control, decrease anxiety and find hope that they can cope with and hopefully recover from their cancer
Adhere to appropriate clinical boundaries as defined by our state licensure
Complete necessary clinical documentation
Communicate clearly and in a timely manner; participant and group status, and any clinical or tech issues related to group facilitation with PD
Assist with promotion of CSC programs within the groups you facilitate
Serve as a host for education workshops and other special programs
Briefly introduce speakers/workshop leaders, provide remarks, and an overview of CSC
Helping to field questions and answers throughout sessions
Provide evaluations and feedback to Program Director on the process and content of the workshop
Opportunity to attend optional program related events such as fundraisers, medical symposiums, socials or other special events
Qualification
Required
Licensed (state of Massachusetts) clinical mental health professional
Experience in facilitating support groups for people affected by cancer
Trained in CSC philosophy and methodology
Ability to communicate clearly and in a timely manner
Ability to adhere to appropriate clinical boundaries as defined by state licensure
Ability to complete necessary clinical documentation
Ability to assist groups in exploring emotions and improving quality of life
Preferred
Experience in overseeing educational workshops and special programs
Experience in promoting programs within facilitated groups
Experience in providing evaluations and feedback on workshops
