Legislative and Policy Advisor

Responsibilities
Serve as advisor and MTF/Network Liaison for legislative matters to resolve sensitive, complex executive and congressional requests for information, requests for briefs, congressional initiatives, and executive strategies
Evaluate new or modified legislation to identify projected impact upon the Medical Treatment Center’s (MTF) healthcare programs and resources
Provide qualitative and analytical responses to legislative actions which impact the healthcare programs and resources of the MTF and Network regional area healthcare support
Serve as the subject matter expert to resolve the sensitive, complex executive and congressional requests for information, requests for briefs, congressional initiatives, and execute strategies
Assist the Chief of Executive Legislative Affairs with the day-to-day operation of the department
Prepare analytical briefings/reports, incorporating multi-disciplinary clinical and administrative input for use with external audiences related to MTF activities, services, research, or specific issues of interest
Coordinate and support congressional briefings, legislative engagement as well as congressional delegation visits to MTF

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12)
