Bridge Project Engineer
GAI Consultants, Inc is seeking a Bridge Project Engineer to work with their West Virginia offices within the Transportation Business Unit. The successful candidate will leverage their extensive engineering experience to lead projects and develop professionally in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities
Occasionally serves as the technical advisor in the application of advanced concepts and methods in an assigned area
Keeps informed of new developments and requirements affecting the practice for the purpose of recommending changes in projects or applications
Occasionally develops new techniques and/or improved processes, materials, or products
Oversees a project team of engineers and technicians
Plans, schedules, and coordinates the preparation of documents or activities for multiple major projects
Analyzes project management plans for complex engineering projects
Understands project delivery uncertainties and uses risk management principles to address them
Reviews operational procedures to ensure compliance with applicable policies and performance measures
Receives supervision and guidance relating to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters
Receives direction on unusual conditions and developments
Mentors’ direct reports and or other engineers
Integrates professional attitudes relevant to the practice of engineering and fosters creativity, curiosity, flexibility, and dependability in staff
Applies principles of formal strategic and persuasive communications
Represents their area of specialty within the practice and liaises with related individuals and practices
Routinely interacts with practice leaders, clients, officials, contractors, and others
Integrates concepts of effective teamwork and leadership
Qualification
Required
10+ years of engineering experience on a variety of bridge types (structural steel, prestressed and cast-in-place concrete)
Experience with WVDOH standards, structural directives, specifications, and design manuals
Experience with structural analysis and design programs for bridge design
Proficiency in Midas, CSI Bridge, AASHTOWare BrR, AASHTOWare BrD, MDX, Leap Bridge Concrete, and other design and rating software packages
Proficiency in MicroStation and Open Bridge Designer
B.S. or M.S. Engineering
Professional Engineer (P.E.) License, reciprocity in multiple states
