Engineer Intern
WGI is a leading consulting firm specializing in transportation projects, and they are seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to join their Transportation Structures team. The intern will assist in developing engineering designs and plans for various transportation-related structures while working in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities
Develop engineering designs and plans for various structures including reinforced concrete bridges, prestressed/post-tensioned concrete bridges, steel plate and box girder bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, sign/signal structures, sound barrier walls, and other transportation related structures
Assist in the creation of engineering documents including Bridge Development Reports, Bridge Load Rating Calculations, and Design-Build Technical Proposals
Qualification
Required
0 to 4 years of experience in Structural Engineering
Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college
Passing score on Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
Proficiency or ability to become proficient in Structural Engineering Software including Leap Bridge, Conspan, RC-Pier, STAAD, MDX, Midas, FB-MultiPier, MathCAD, and Microstation
Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and work on large multi-discipline engineering teams
Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis
Preferred
Some familiarity with Florida DOT design policies and procedures
Masters degree in engineering
