2026 Intern - Mechanical Engineering - Onsite

RTX is a leading company in defense solutions, seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2026. The intern will assist in the mechanical design process, contributing to new product development within the Electronic Warfare Mechanical Engineering section, and will engage in various design and documentation tasks under supervision.

Responsibilities

Training and application of RTX tools including CREO and PDM
Design and Documentation support utilizing engineering tools, Adobe, and MS office suite
Engineering Change and Drawing Release
Analytical and Technical engineering work within a program environment with possible presentations on designs as needed
Training on Raytheon processes and procedures
Work may include participation of building hardware in a lab environment

Required

This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Junior year by the start of summer 2026
Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience utilizing CAD (Computer Aided Design) tools such as CREO or equivalent
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Preferred

3.0 cumulative GPA desired
Mechanical Design or Electronics Packaging Experience
Ability to apply basic principles, theories, and concepts within the mechanical engineering field and general knowledge of other related disciplines
Experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) analysis for drawings
Direct experience in developing detail mechanical designs and documentation packages for RF, Electronic and/or mechanical systems
