Code Enforcement Officer II
The City of Houston is looking for a Code Enforcement Officer II to join their Houston Permitting Center/Community Code Enforcement team. This role involves coordinating the enforcement of city ordinances, conducting inspections, responding to citizen inquiries, and representing the department at public meetings.

Responsibilities
Serve as a field training officer (FTO) while leading in the coordination of the enforcement and implementation of adapted City of Houston ordinances
Perform routine inspections of sites to enforce ordinances concerning high grass, weeds, junk motor vehicles and dangerous buildings
Respond to inquiries from citizens, governmental officials and various other City departments
Facilitate in abatements
Testify in court proceedings and or administrative hearings
Perform special assignments as requested
Attend public meetings as needed to represent the department/section
Qualification
Required
Requires a high school diploma or a GED
Two years of experience related to code enforcement inspection are required
Requires a code enforcement license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations TDLR
Requires a valid Texas driver's license and compliance with the City of Houston's policy on driving
Preferred
Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for
