Responsibilities
Continue the development of existing products for the consumer weather space
Deliver new and innovative mobile products
Participate in Agile team processes and reviews
Evaluate effort and provide alternative solutions
Identify performance bottlenecks and define solutions
Correct defects in the existing product
Implement new features and improvements
Create efficient, performant algorithms
Collaborate with QA to ensure well-tested applications
Raise issues proactively during development
Qualification
Required
BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred
5+ years of general programming experience
1-2 years of Android development experience
Proficient in Kotlin
Experienced with Git and GitHub
Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and JSON
Experience with Jetpack Compose UI development
Skilled with Android debugging tools, including Layout Inspector and ADB
Experience with Gradle build system
Knowledge of local data storage using ROOM and Preferences
Experience with background processing using WorkManager
Proficient with Coroutines for asynchronous programming
Experience with unit testing and test-driven development
Understanding of Android memory management and optimization
Familiar with implementing and consuming REST APIs
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively
Preferred
Experience with AI tools such as Gemini, Cline, Claude, or Cursor
Knowledge of CI/CD tools
Understanding of mobile development challenges including battery, radio, CPU, GPU, and memory constraints
