Software Engineer Intern - Summer, 2026
Sound Transit is overseeing Passenger Facing Applications throughout the Puget Sound region and is seeking a Software Engineer Intern for the summer of 2026. The intern will work closely with engineers to support IT development and enhance public-facing applications.

Responsibilities
Work closely with Engineers/Solution architects to conform to approved architecture and design
Surface technical risks in delivered code or products
Work on short term tasks for providing technical and project support to IT development team
Expanding Trip planning data and enabling new features
Enhancing Sound Transit public facing applications
Perform DevOps improvements for various services
Qualification
Required
Current college student in good academic standing
Enrolled in an accredited associate, bachelor's or graduate degree program in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or relevant two-year certificate
Skills in Java or equivalent language
Skills in HTML
Skills in REST API
Skills in Mobile app development
Knowledge of Agile development methodologies, techniques, and principles
Preferred
Software development experience
