Responsibilities
Build, train, and evaluate models for our key tasks:
Zero-shot relevance classification of health records given information about a drug and medical condition
Medical question answering grounded by a patient’s medical history
Design monitoring criteria to detect and flag probable errors, model drift, and adversarial inputs
Design data capture criteria to collect future training data from our production systems
Collaborate with the engineering team to bring these designs into production
Lay the cultural and technical foundations of our research and development wing
All while strictly adhering to HIPAA and other relevant regulations
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field or equivalent industry experience in applied language modeling
Experience training and evaluating language models
Experience designing, curating, and collecting high quality data sets
Experience using PyTorch to train & fine-tune language models, including: Standard supervised pre-training, Fine-tuning & transfer learning, Distillation, Reinforcement learning methods such as RLHF and DPO
Strong engineering fundamentals including Python & SQL at minimum
Preferred
Experience with healthcare data or working in another highly regulated industry
