Teen Environmental Pathways Program Manager (SDA/TLT)
King County Parks is seeking a temporary Teen Environmental Pathways Program Manager to join the Parks Volunteer Program team. This role will manage the Youth Conservation Corps (YCC), overseeing programming that empowers high school students in environmental education and community engagement.

Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the White Center and Skyway YCC cohorts, ensuring consistent, high-quality programming through staff supervision, logistical coordination, and program support
Supervise, hire, and onboard YCC staff and interns, including two full-time program coordinators and two summer program assistants, in collaboration with Human Resources
Manage YCC program planning and implementation, including schedule development, coordination with King County colleagues and partner organizations, and planning of restoration and educational activities
Oversee program operations and logistics, including budget and spending, contracts and payments, supplies, vehicles, and site agreements, and step in to facilitate programming as needed
Lead the YCC Teen Leads Program and support school-year partnerships by coordinating selection processes, trainings, intern schedules, and ongoing communication with schools and the Volunteer Program team
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated experience overseeing multi-day educational programs across multiple sites, including supporting and supervising program staff
Strong expertise in designing, implementing, and evaluating youth programs, particularly in environmental and career-focused education
Proven ability to hire, onboard, supervise, and collaborate with diverse teams
Deep understanding of the intersections between race and environmental issues, with the ability to articulate the importance of diversity within the environmental field
Experience working effectively with Black, Indigenous, and youth of color teens
Experience managing partnerships, contracts, and program budgets
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex topics to diverse audiences
Comfortable and confident leading young people in outdoor settings
Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions
Ability to walk and work in uneven terrain
A valid driver's license at the time of appointment and comfort driving youth in a passenger van throughout King County
Current CPR and First Aid Training, or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
