Global Security Operations Center Analyst
New York University is seeking a Global Security Operations Center Analyst to develop and implement tailored Indications & Warning Profiles to identify safety and security issues affecting university operations globally. The role involves overseeing the International Travel Program, maintaining status reports, and supporting travelers throughout their journey.

Responsibilities
Develops and implements appropriate and tailored Indications & Warning (I&W) Profiles by actively scanning the environment – to include but not limited to open source media, third-party subscription services, and other sources - to identify and report on safety and security issues that could affect university operations and personnel globally
Establishes and maintains current status reports and implements notification protocols
Oversees NYU’s International Travel Program, to interface and monitor alerts from 3rd party providers, notify University and travelers of impending safety and security issues, and support travelers through the entire travel cycle
Establishes and maintains common operational pictures for steady-state, special event, and crisis situations as directed
Provide support with publishing estimates and forecasts related to the safety/security situation at international sites and on developments globally that could impact the University
Produces Event Reconstruction graphics, chronologies, and summaries to contribute to Operational After Action Reviews, Service Inquiries, or for other use cases
Contributes to other departmental analytic efforts, including crime analysis, budget analysis, risk-based staffing & deployment analysis, and other process improvement or continuous improvement efforts
May be required to work night, weekends, and holidays
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Homeland Security, Intelligence Analysis, or closely related field
2+ years experience in security intelligence analysis or a related security field preferred
Must possess the key attributes of an exceptional analyst: insatiable and perpetual curiosity; the drive to find answers stemming from relevant and focused lines of inquiry; creative problem-solving; the ability to effectively operate on the full spectrum of data, information, and knowledge; and the ability to create easy-to-understand Decision-Support Tools & Graphics to facilitate critical understanding and decision-making
Able to recognize gaps in data and design effective collection strategies to fill gaps
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with effective presentation and training skills
Equally proficient with narratives, summaries, and graphic presentation
Demonstrated knowledge in both national and international current events, including an understanding of the potential impact on security and the affected business
Ability to quickly assimilate new information, knowledgeable in articulating emerging threats and risks, and recommend mitigation options and alternatives
Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously; proficient with establishing priorities that are aligned with risk and urgency
Ability to collaborate and coordinate with key stakeholders across the university and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization
Highly motivated, positive 'self-starter' able to operate with limited supervision in a small team environment
Ability to use good judgment and discretion in potentially stressful environment
Proficient in the use of computers and software, including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and Access), Social media applications (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Sysomos, etc.), Various web based applications
Ability to quickly master various software applications
Preferred
Master's Degree in Homeland Security, Intelligence Studies, International Relations, or related field
3+ years experience in security intelligence analysis or a related security field preferred
Familiarity with issues related to international operations and higher education abroad preferred
Ability to speak a foreign language a plus
Knowledge of other cultures valued
Knowledge of higher education Information Technology Systems
Experience with the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP)
