Actuarial Pricing Integration Lead, Pricing Analytics & Models

Responsibilities
Champion business needs in cross-functional design and integration discussions, balancing pricing quality, governance, and feasibility
Keep pricing leadership informed with concise, regular updates on progress, risks, and issues across all affected product lines
Be the pricing actuaries’ voice in design and integration discussions with the technology team that is implementing Guidewire
Provide a bridge and translation for the integration team and pricing actuaries by gathering and clarifying pricing requirements, ensuring the technology leads to understand the users’ expectations and the actuaries understand the capabilities and limits of the Guidewire software
Flag cross-functional risks early and propose pragmatic mitigations, escalating awareness when necessary; and
Foster knowledge sharing and onboarding for policy/method decisions that could affect system design or implementation
Assist with building and/or coding and implementing pricing models in R or Python
Ensure line of business actuaries align their pricing models with approved methodologies, incorporate core pricing modules, and adhere to standards and practices for development and deployment
Identify opportunities for improving user experience, logic, and coding within pricing models
Conduct model reviews, test coding, and assess model accuracy and performance; and
Create consistent technical documentation for actuarial methodologies and frameworks
Qualification
Required
Significant experience in US mid-market or large commercial non-life pricing
Actuarial qualification or near qualification; ACAS or FCAS
Experience integrating pricing tools with Guidewire, Duck Creek, or other major insurance technology platforms
Proven ability to lead projects independently and manage workloads across different projects effectively
Proven ability to work with global, multi-disciplinary teams, including actuaries, underwriters, and information technology staff
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to distill complex technical concepts and processes into clear, concise, and easily understandable terms for non-technical audiences
Successful technical aptitude with commercial programming experience (Python / R / SQL)
Proven ability to think strategically with a passion for innovation and a desire to utilize new technologies
A pragmatic and delivery-focused approach; and collaborative work ethic
A bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or computer science
Preferred
Experience with the creation, coordination, execution, and communication of a large-scale, corporate transformation or information technology project
Familiarity with relevant enterprise microservice architecture concepts
Data literacy (data lineage, quality, mappings) and ability to read interface and API specs
