Cyber Systems Engineer – Cyber Patching-Red Hat Satellite (26-057)
Northrop Grumman is a leading aerospace and defense technology company, and they are seeking a Cyber Systems Engineer – Cyber Patching-Red Hat Satellite to join their team. This role involves developing and testing patches to mitigate cyber vulnerabilities, focusing on vulnerability management and collaborating with software developers to ensure system integration.

Responsibilities
Setting up and configuring Linux from the OS installation to the application setup
Documentation and verification of all lab installation and configuration procedures
Develop test plans/procedures for software integration and unit testing
Collaborate with software developers and vendors as necessary to diagnose and identify the root causes of problems encountered during system integration
Submit problem reports for errors found in accordance with Agile processes and coordinate daily integration activities with other Agile Release Trains (ARTs)
Development and deployment of Cyber Releases in the National Team labs, C2BMC Test Facility, and Operations
Installing and performing unit tests on Cyber Products
Providing redlines to engineers and feedback to Cyber Leadership will be required as part of this role's responsibilities
Documenting lessons learned, best practices in security engineering, and industry standards will also be part of daily duties
Application and usage of technical principles, theories, and concepts
Create solutions for problems that are of limited to moderate scope and complexity
Work may be carried out under close supervision with detailed instructions or more generally supervised
Contacts are mainly with the immediate supervisor, project leaders, and internal team members, with occasional customer interactions
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 2 years of experience; or a Master's degree in a related field with 0 years of relevant work experience; or 6 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
Applicants must have a current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, etc.) at the time of application, which is required to start. The candidate is responsible for maintaining their DoD 8140 certification throughout the entire contract period
Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
User experience in configuring and patching Linux systems using Red Hat Satellite and Capsules
Hands-on experience scripting, installing, and testing patches on Linux hosts
Knowledge of executing Security Hardening on Linux Operating Systems based on approved DISA STIGs and SRGs
Preferred
Perform Agile tasks during the entire System Development Lifecycle
Knowledge of scripting for Windows Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
Practical experience with leading cybersecurity tools like SCAP, NESSUS, and ACAS
Proven experience in analyzing and applying NIST SP 800-53 Security Controls to support Risk Management Framework (RMF) implementation throughout various mission system phases
